Support the Caraher Family & Friends After a Prom Night Accident

• On Prom Night, May 17, 2025, Maddie Caraher, a junior at Cazenovia High School, and a friend were involved in a car accident caused by a driver who completely crossed over into her lane. Thankfully, both walked away with only minor injuries — something we’re all incredibly grateful for.
  

Unfortunately, the Caraher family’s vehicle was totaled, and Maddie’s beloved camera and lens — which she has used to capture countless memories for our school community — were broken. In addition, Maddie’s friend sustained a hand injury that now requires surgery, leading to out-of-pocket medical expenses.

If you have kids at Cazenovia High, you’ve likely seen Maddie behind the camera. Her photos from school events, sports, and everyday moments have become a part of what brings our community together. Maddie has given her time and talent generously, and now we have a chance to give back.

The Carahers are a close-knit, busy family. Emma is a sophomore at SUNY Cortland, Rachael is a senior at Cazenovia High School, and Maddie and her twin brother Kyle are juniors at Caz. The loss of a vehicle and essential equipment is a major financial burden for any family. Replacing a vehicle, covering medical costs, and replacing camera equipment is a heavy financial burden.

This fundraiser will help:

• Replace Maddie’s camera and lens

• Contribute toward the cost of a new family vehicle

• Help with Maddie’s friend’s out-of-pocket medical costs for hand surgery

• Provide general support as the families recover from this difficult experience
