Last year I hiked 1,067 miles (1,717 kms) of the Appalachian trail. It was an incredible experience, and a daily test of my endurance, stamina, and conviction! My goal was to hike the entire trail of 2,197 miles (3,536 kms) from Georgia to Maine in 5 months. I was almost halfway when I got the news about my dad's stage 4 cancer diagnosis. I traveled home the next day, and got to spend six weeks with him before he passed.

I'm now back on the trail to finish what I started and pick up where I left off. This leaves me with another 1,130 miles (1,819 kms) of the trail.

My dad was always my biggest supporter on my adventures. He was excited for me, at times a little worried, and loved living vicariously through my adventures and daily updates!
