Help Us Bring Our Parents Home

Hello, my name is Paulina Cabello, the second daughter of Gustavo Cabello and Paula Bautista — the parents who were taken away by force on November 6, 2025, around 8:30 a.m. by supposed agents who took advantage of the power they claim to have.

That morning, I was on a call with my mom when she told me they thought they were being followed by some trucks. Moments later, she said, “Ya nos agarraron, Pau.” I immediately grabbed my baby and drove to the Basilica of San Juan, since I live nearby.

When I arrived, I found these supposed agents cornering my 15-year-old brother, intimidating him, and one of them — a man with a tattoo and badge #195 — was pushing and touching him, even though he’s a minor. When I told him he couldn’t touch him, the agent replied, “Yes I can.” I can’t imagine what could have happened if I hadn’t arrived when I did — they were about to leave my younger brother alone in an alley.

These individuals pulled a gun on my parents, forced them out of their vehicle, and pushed them into unmarked cars. My mother, who suffers from diabetes and has fractured her knees in the past, was forced out of the car by a female officer, which could have caused her serious harm.

As of right now, we haven’t heard anything from our parents since their last call around 1 p.m. that same day.

My parents have four children — my older sister Heidi, myself (Paulina), my 15-year-old brother, and my younger sister. The responsibility of caring for my siblings has fallen on me and my sister.

I have a 2-month-old baby who depends completely on me, and now I must also care for my younger brother and sister while trying to find a lawyer and figure out what’s happening with our parents.

My mom is one of the kindest, most hard-working women you could ever meet — she has no criminal record and has always done everything she can to provide for us and raise us right.

We are completely heartbroken, scared, and trying to stay strong. We are asking for any help possible — even $1 makes a difference — to help us with:

• Legal expenses

• Basic needs for my siblings and my baby

• Transportation and communication costs while we search for answers
