Hello! We are the Buckner's and we invite you in to learn about the journey we have been on since 2022. In October 2022, Leanne and I experienced the immense joy in celebrating the great news that we would in fact be first time parents, and would later find out that our child would be a baby boy. Time progressed, we named our precious child Caden, and he was healthy throughout the entire pregnancy. Caden's due date was going to be the 4th of July, until Leanne experienced a slight increase in her blood pressure in June. Protecting our child and Leanne was of utmost importance, so we decided to check in with the hospital, as they suggested us to stay, and they would induce Leanne for the delivery of our son. The induction process did not go as planned, and immense distress was placed on Leanne and on Caden, causing Caden's heart rate to drop significantly, resulting in not only a 3 day prolonged labor for Leanne but, our son delivered unresponsive on June 22 via an emergency C-Section. Caden was flown to Hershey Medical Center, ending up in the NICU where he would fight for his life over the next 5 weeks. During that time, Leanne was still in Lancaster where she ended up hemorrhaging and having emergency surgery, and fought her way to Hershey to be by Caden's side. We are thankful that the Lord had saved Leanne, as she maternally and lovingly cared for her son, even while she dealt with the after effects of an emergency C-section, recovery from blood loss, and a total of 3 blood transfusions.
Caden went home to be with Jesus on July 28, 2023, and Leanne and I have since then used our non-profit, Unashamed Ministries, to support NICU families, and those going through child loss. In 2025, we have decided that we are desiring to pursue adoption to continue to grow our family. Adoption certainly comes with a cost, and that is why we are reaching out to finally bring our baby home. We were so ready to welcome Caden home, and we had everything prepared, the nursery was set up, and we were so excited for all the "firsts" we would have with him. The devastation of losing him has been immense but the love we have for Caden will always be with us. We are working with a beautiful, new agency, who is Christ-centered, and have been a blessing to us. We have been trying for a child, and have been struggling. One night we prayed to the Lord to direct us in our next steps, and the next morning, He led us to City Plan. We know this was the Lord's work. However, the cost associate with adoption is significant, and we are humbly asking for your support once more. We have a long road ahead, but every bit of help brings us closer to our goal. Adoption Fees: $15,000

We are looking for a little over $20,000 total, with $7,000 that has already been donated.
