Anyone who has ventured down 2nd street in Northern Liberties has more than likely seen the giant golden pig logo on the front window of the charming family owned bar called The Blind Pig. If you have been fortunate enough to walk inside, you would have been greeted with a warm and welcoming smile, a cold beer, and hopefully you had the opportunity to try something off their unique and creative menu. Most known for their famous “Blue Balls” and “Thanksgiving Balls”, The Blind Pig has been a staple of our community for years, and before they were able to say their proper farewell, they, like many others, had to cease operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have ever walked through the doors of The Blind Pig, you undoubtedly had the pleasure of meeting the owners Deb and Dave. They are local to our community, extremely hospitable, and are without a doubt some of the nicest and most humble individuals and business owners in the city; and now they need our help. If you are not a regular, you may not have known that they were attempting to sell their business so that they could spend more time with their young children. They had a buyer and were days away from closing on the deal when COVID hit and the buyer had to withdrawal from the transaction. Now they are at risk of losing everything and we are attempting to raise the needed funds to cover the back owed rent and utilities due to the shut down, so that they can relist their business for sale and say their proper goodbyes.. This family has spent years building their business and are at risk of walking away with nothing. Please consider helping this local family owned business, as they are the type of people to do the same for you!
