When Olga Biekietov fled the the war-stricken Ukraine and brought her son Bohdan and daughter Sofia to the United States last September for the opportunity to pursue their dreams (Bohdan is a very talented basketball player and Sofia has a passion for the arts), the Montgomery community welcomed them with open arms. The outpouring of support to help them acclimate to work, the schools and extra-curricular programs was incredible. At the same time, the Biekietov’s quickly embraced the community, bringing a warmth and perspective that have positively impacted many. They are a kind and beautiful family that have come to love the town they live in, but continue to face challenges. Father/husband Dmitriy has limited work due to his commitment to national service in Ukraine. Olga is doing her best to support the needs of the family but finding it difficult to piece it all together
Many people have asked how they can help. In an effort to provide the Biekietov’s the flexibility to allocate resources the priorities they deem most critical, we have set up this GoFundMe. Our goal is $10,000 but we would love to see it go bigger.
