Help Us Open the Doors to Chicago History
Our Goal: Raise the Final $100,000 for the Avalon Regal Theater Open House with the Chicago Architecture Center
For more than a decade, we have been dedicated to preserving and restoring the historic Avalon Regal Theater—one of Chicago’s most significant architectural and cultural landmarks.
Through years of determination and investment, we have protected this irreplaceable building and are now preparing to again welcome the public inside for a historic Open House.
The total budget for this event and the work required to prepare the building is $250,000.
The ART Foundation has already invested $150,000 toward this effort and we are asking our community to help us raise the final $100,000 needed to make this milestone possible.
We’ve Already Made Significant Progress
When we acquired the theater, years of deferred maintenance had taken a serious toll on the building.
Rather than waiting for someone else to save it, we took action.
We successfully completed the stabilization of the southern facade, preserving a major portion of this Chicago landmark after years of neglect.
Today, we are actively working to stabilize the northern facade, another critical investment that will protect the building for generations to come and help prepare it to safely welcome visitors during Open House.
This campaign will help us complete that work while preparing the theater for one of the most important public events in its recent history.
