Jeff and Amanda Austin, and their daughters Abby (13 years old), and Maddy (10years old) Austin left their home out of an abundance of caution to escape the winds and smoke from the Palisades fire, thinking they would be returning to their home in Altadena the next day. Unfortunately, the Eaton fire broke out that same evening, and their home was destroyed in that fire.
Jeff is a former public school principal and is currently a consultant helping underperforming schools around the country. Jeff is an avid soccer fan and lover of bourbon. His wife Amanda is a speech therapist for the local school district and in her free time love creating art.
The Austins are now left with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. The estimate is that it will take 2 years to rebuild their home, and during those 2 years, they will have to pay rent, their mortgage, and the costs of rebuilding a home.
