Support the Alvarado Family After ICE Detainment
Donation protected
The morning of June 19, 2025, Jorge Alvarado - a beloved father, thoughtful friend, and hardworking community member - was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in front of his mother's house, where he goes every morning to enjoy breakfast with his family. Jorge had been followed by ICE agents who grabbed him out of his vehicle and arrested him in his mother's driveway.
This caused great distress for his mother, a grandmother, physically and mentally who went running after him despite still recovering from a recent fall and dealing with ongoing heart conditions to try and stop them - but Jorge wasn't able to enjoy the warm breakfast and time with his family that morning as he was forcibly detained by ICE for immediate deportation.
Jorge is a father and provider to three children, Layla (4), Kayla (25), and Calvin (27), and is married to Viviana. He has never had a criminal record, never assaulted or threatened anyone in his entire life. He is a family man that is being taken away from his family, friends, and life that he has built over the past 25+ years in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Despite an ongoing case, Jorge was immediately sent to a detention center in Las Vegas and will be deported to Guatemala by 6/22/2025 without lawfully seeing a judge, given the opportunity to request asylum or other status, and was fast-tracked for immediate deportation.
He was forcibly separated from his 4-year-old daughter, wife, and family while we wait for the results of his case. On behalf of the Alvarado family, we just want him back home with us.
We are grateful for any funds that you could contribute to help cover:
- Immigration attorneys, bond costs, application fees, and any other legal or court-related expenses.
- Housing and material funding to support Jorge in Guatemala and his family in Utah.
Thank you so much for any donations or prayers. We hope that you can help support us during this difficult time to ease the transition for his family and young daughter.
With love,
The Alvarado Family
