Hello,
It pains me to reach the point where I must ask for money, but as someone who has always prioritized her family, I cannot watch as we are on the brink of falling apart. I humbly am asking for any sort of assistance so that my family and I are able to maintain a home until we are back on our feet. I ask that you do not view this request for money as begging, but rather as a last resort for my family and me. I have personally exhausted my resources, as I have used all my savings and excess financial aid to assist in paying for bills and rent, but we have come to a point where the late rent payments every single month have resulted in consequences by our realtor, who is refusing to renew our lease in September. This is not an act of irresponsibility either, as my mom, sister, brother, and I have 1-2 jobs so that we are able to afford basic expenses. Unfortunately, we cannot come up with money in a short period of time. And while we are all working, my sister and brother cannot work as much as necessary as we also only own one car. On top of these financial responsibilities, my sister, brother, and I have academic obligations as well. This amount of money would allow us to save up for a second car and pay our rent on time with ease every month. We receive no support from our extended family here in Texas or back in Jordan, and my mom is a financially independent mother of five who commutes an hour and a half to work and back every single day to be able to put food on the table. I am not asking for pity, just assistance. As a Muslim Arab immigrant family, we do feel a slight sense of humiliation in asking for money. Please understand that this was not an easy decision for us. It is difficult to publicly expose our lives in a humiliating and raw manner, especially since there is also a chance we may not receive financial assistance. Please consider us as simply a family without any familial or communal support, in need of kindness.
If you are a friend of mine or my siblings, I ask that you donate anonymously. I am sure you understand.
Thank you,
Haia
