Help Fund the 2026 Whole Truth, Whole Milk Campaign for Independent Review of Raw Milk Science

I am Peg Coleman, a medical microbiologist, a Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis, and a grandmother who drives weekly to a licensed raw dairy in upstate NY to legally purchase raw milk from pastured cows.

The science on raw milk is being distorted — and we need your help to set the record straight, revealing the Whole Truth about fresh unprocessed Whole Milk complete with it’s beneficial microbes (milk microbiota).

Misinformation and oversimplifications about raw milk are flooding newspapers, blogs, and even scientific journals. Risk assessments are making unsupported and biased assumptions, data is being manipulated and skewed, and small family dairy farmers are being harassed and regulated out of existence — all in service of a pro-pasteurization agenda that ignores growing evidence of raw milk's microbiologic and immunologic benefits. People deserve the Whole Truth and the freedom to make their own choices about diet and health.

Here's what we're doing about it.

Coleman Scientific Consulting reconvened a team that prepared two key evidence map studies on the benefits and risks of pasteurizing human donor breastmilk and cow's milk. The team will update the evidence maps for presentation as a case study for review by an independent panel convened through a prestigious risk assessment organization, the Alliance for Risk Assessment, on October 26, 2026.

Our team brings decades of dedication to ‘letting the data speak’ as well as unsurpassed credentials in risk analysis and the influence of dietary microbes on health and protection from infections, allergy, asthma, and other diseases. The team includes:

• Emeritus Professor Rodney Dietert, a leader and lecturer on mechanisms for beneficial effects of our microbial partners in health (our microbiota) and their influence on the health of our gut, immune, neural, and respiratory systems;

• Dr. Warner North, a decision science scholar, past president of the Society for Risk Analysis, and recipient of SRA’s Distinguished Service and Outstanding Risk Practitioner Awards and the Decision Analysis Society’s Frank P. Ramsey Medal; and

• Peg Coleman, a medical microbiologist, Fellow of the Society for Risk Analysis, and unpaid advisor to The Breastfeeding Foundation, the Canadian Artisan Dairy Alliance, and the Raw Milk Institute.

Why does this panel peer-review matter to farmers, mothers, and raw milk drinkers?

Independent panel peer-review carries real weight with regulators, the public health community, and legislators. A credible, transparent review of the evidence can open doors that advocacy alone cannot. It puts solid, unbiased science on the record — publicly accessible — alongside more than 60 other case studies from past panel peer-review workshops convened by the Alliance for Risk Assessment that informed public health decisions.

What we need:

The goal is raising $20,000, including $13,000 to cover the panel fee. Our team has already raised more than $12,000 in contributions. Presenters are contributing their professional expertise in preparing and presenting the case study without compensation.

We are seeking the remaining funds to cover costs of campaigning and fight misinformation in the peer-reviewed literature with high-quality raw milk research documenting the impact of the lack of bioactives in infant formula, as well as severity of milkborne illness.

If you demand honesty and transparency about the science and believe in freedom of dietary choices, please contribute today.

Contributions of any amount are welcome — $20, $50, $100, or whatever you can give.

Your support helps:
