HAC is BACK! We are inviting healthcare workers, caregivers, and schemers to converge in San Francisco, California, this coming June 12-14th to find and support one another in creating greater health autonomy for all. This year, our theme is "Crisis, Collapse, Connection."
This work has never been more important. How do we survive when the system that we rely on for care and wages is crumbling all around us? How do we practice solidarity in the institutional setting? How do we abolish the power-differentials between 'provider' and 'patient'? We want to bring people together to build networks strong enough to weather present (and future) catastrophes. To make that a reality, we need your support!
Can you pitch in to help us pay for interpreters, food for attendees, and travel stipends for those who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend? A $50 donation pays for one person's meals over the weekend, while $100 can help cover someone's travel. Please consider giving generously!
Throughout the three-day gathering, there will be workshops, presentations, and discussions on topics such as migrant solidarity, direct action in the workplace, lessons learned from disaster response, care in the context of war & genocide, DIY queer & trans healthcare, abortion access, mad liberation, historical models of health autonomy, death with dignity, disability justice, and much more — help us bring this all together!
We are a group of volunteer organizers coordinating this event in our spare time. You can read more about the convergence and our principles on our website.
The 2023 HAC brought 300 healthcare workers to Durham, North Carolina, for a very successful three-day event with over 60 workshops. Amazingly, we were able to make this happen with a humble $15,000 budget. Of that, $2,500 was redistributed to presenters and attendees in the form of travel stipends, and $2,500 went to food. HAC 2026 will be even bigger and better, so we have increased our fundraising goal to $20,000.
Please help us reach our goal by giving generously and sharing with your networks!
