Support Thang Vo's Heart Attack Recovery

Money. Money. Money. The three stressors every working class citizen face.

My step-father, Thang Vo, is a hard-working & kind man with a rigid outside, hardened by years of physical labor and emotional pain that he has yet to overcome. All of this stress in conjunction with the Vietnamese man's desire to provide has come to a halt when last Thursday (3/27), he suffered a massive heart attack that left him hospital-bound.

As the breadwinner who provides for not just me, but also my mom, his two daughters and multiple grandchildren; my step-father's loss of income has taken a toll on our family's ability to maintain normalcy. Our bills include all the regular: food, electricity, water, car bills, phone bills, etc.

All of which were paid for by him, all of which has now been left a void due to his sudden heart attack.

Vietnamese people are kind, caring, and sweet. During his time at the hospital, my step-father has received all kinds of emotional support from our extended family, the Vietnamese community in Greensboro, and the nurture & care of the staff at Cone Health Center.

He is currently being put on ECMO, a machine that replaces the movement of his heart & lungs, filtering out old blood and replacing it with new blood. This will be a months-long battle that we are all fighting together. As you can imagine, the mental toll that this places on our family's shoulders is not a light load.

Today, I am writing these lines to ask for financial help from our community members to keep the hope going for us. Your financial help, however small, will help lift off some weight from our heavy shoulders, and will bring some light into our currently very dim world.
