Support Thacker's Eagle Scout Kayak Locker Project

Hi! I am Thacker Underwood. After two years of planning, designing, studying, budgeting and thinking, I'm ready to build my Eagle Scout project...almost. I need your help.

I am working to build a kayak locker for the Town of Narrows in Giles County, Virginia. My goal is to raise $1,600 by Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

The kayak locker will be located in Camp Success alongside the New River (the second oldest river in the world!) and be the first of hopefully many such kayak structures along the New River Water Trail. My design provides a choice of either a full-length storage locker to house one's kayak and gear, or angled arms to flip, lift and lock the kayak. The Town is hopeful that the lockers will be utilized by folks traveling along the New River to stop, safely store their gear and wander into town for a bite to eat, to resupply or stay overnight.

I have worked with a local hardware store to get an estimate of $1,600 for the supplies needed to build the locker. Will you help me build my kayak locker? If you give $200 or more, I'll recognize you or your business on the donor sign. You can also choose to remain anonymous. All funds raised will benefit the Town of Narrows. If you are unable to make a monetary donation at this time, sharing my story with friends and family would be greatly appreciated.
