Support Tess Team Cares: Help the Homeless
Donation protected
The 4th Annual Tess Team Cares will be held on Saturday, December 14th. We have partnered again with the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake City and the Rescue Mission Women's Shelter this year to give out care packages. We are planning on 250 care packages of socks, hats, gloves, toiletries, and other items for the winter season. Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will go 100% to the Tess Team Cares Day to help the homeless this winter season.
Here is a little bit about our project and how we came together. I have been very fortunate in life to have so many wonderful friends, a close family, travel, and a job that I love. When I visit downtown Salt Lake and other cities it is sometimes incredibly sad to see the homeless population.
Here is the story of how Tess Team Cares came about. One afternoon two friends were trying to figure out what to do with two replaced sofa bed mattresses. We had the idea to take them downtown and hit the street in an area where many homeless people live. We stuffed them in the back of my SUV and found a street with an abundance of tents. We got out of the car, opened the back, and asked a couple of people if they would like the mattresses. They said YES! While we were getting the mattresses out, they saw blankets and hats in my car and asked if they could have them as well. We started giving out the articles and unfortunately there were not a lot. We immediately felt that we needed to do something to help. We discussed this with multiple other women in our group and they agreed, and we wanted to help.
We have all been donating our time and resources to this cause and would love to do this on a bigger scale in the near future.
Thank you for your time and consideration and Happy Holidays,
