Ted Hendricks - “Pathway to Eternal Rest”

My family needs help, and I’m reaching out in an effort to help relieve their anxiety and financial stress. Please help my father, Ted Hendricks, get strong enough to come home for good. We can’t afford to keep him in rehab anymore, and he needs 5 more months. He’s been in the hospital or rehab center since before Christmas Day.
It all started with a fall at home, and my mom found him on the bathroom ground after he had been there nearly 3 hours. He was rushed to the hospital, and after stabilizing him, they moved him to a nursing facility. He was only there two days when, again, my mom found him in his room extremely weak and demanded he be transferred back to the hospital. Thank God she did this because that night in the hospital, he had a heart attack! Again, our family was lucky that Dad made it to receive help, but sadly his body was very fragile. He spent his birthday (which happens to be Christmas) in the hospital and eventually was released to a different rehabilitation center that was highly recommended. He has been at this location for a few weeks and doing so much better. He’s working out daily, his sugar levels are stable, his weight has decreased, and he gets round-the-clock care. Here is where it gets tricky.
His insurance is no longer accepting this facility. We have appealed the insurance and applied for Medicaid, but all these things take time. For now, it is going to cost my parents approximately $140-160 per day! My parents are on a fixed income, and my mom is working herself to her personal limit to keep him there. Even with us helping, this all adds up very fast, especially when you have to consider the standard monthly bills we had prior to this.
The other options we have are to transfer him to another facility, but after what happened the first time, my mom is terrified of this idea. Also, there is still a cost involved with the other centers, although it will range between $80-120 per day.
The other option is to let him come home now, but this is the worst choice according to doctors. He simply is not strong enough to stick to his diet and is physically too weak to move around without help and will not be able to continue his daily activities. We can pay for a home health nurse, but again that involves a cost, and we know from past experiences that it’s not the best option for him.
We want Dad home, but when he is well enough and not because we can’t afford the care. Even another month or two will make all the difference in the world. While my mom would not directly ask for help and my dad is way too proud, I personally know what a miracle this site can be. My own health was in major jeopardy not long ago, and my children helped us gain the financial support we needed during this time with your help.
Please consider donating to my parents so that my mom can feel some financial relief and my father can have a chance at getting stronger. Any amount will help, and whatever she receives can take the burden off the regular bills so she can use the rest to make the best decision for Dad. We are keeping him in this facility for three more days on our own, but after that, we have to make a choice. Either way, the expenses are going to be impossible to handle without asking for help. Please pray about it and understand that we know all of us are having our own personal circumstances to deal with. With that said, we know not all will be able to donate financially, but we do ask that you take a moment to pray for his health improvement.
