Help Our Volunteers and our handicap Visitors Ride the Elevator—Not the Stairway to Trouble!
Howdy from Teague, Texas! We’re raising funds for the BRI Railroad Museum, a little gem with BIG history—and an elevator that’s decided it’s officially retired. The absence of this elevator prevents us from insuring our handicap visitors have access to our second floor displays and puts our volunteers at risk of injury. Our mission is to raise $75,000.00 from this fundraiser.
Our museum is proudly run by 12 amazing retired volunteers who keep the trains rolling, the stories alive, and the doors open. The only problem? The elevator that gets them to the second floor is either broken or hanging on by a rail tie… and those stairs are getting steeper every year.
We’re trying to repair or replace the elevator so our volunteers can reach the second floor without risking life, limb, or dignity (and without us having to install a winch or pulley system ). Additionally , having this elevator insures our handicapped visitors have access to our newly remodeled second floor.
Every dollar donated helps ensure:
✔️ Our volunteers stay safe
✔️ Our museum stays open
✔️ No one has to crawl up the stairs like it’s 1895
Whether you give $5, $50, or just share this page, we truly appreciate the support. Help us keep history accessible—and our volunteers upright!
Thank you for supporting small-town Texas history, one elevator ride at a time. ❤️
