Support Tayis' Community Efforts in Minneapolis
Donation protected
Words from Tayis:
Minneapolis was my first home when I landed in the U.S 16 years ago with my family. I went to college (Augsburg University) in Minneapolis, so this one hurts on a different level. Last Sunday, I left San Francisco to go home and serve my community in need. Public transit is closed and their walkable stores have been destroyed or closed indefinitely and food scarcity is becoming more acute. Schools nutrition services are also closed and many families need food, basics and cleaning supplies for the damage caused by the fires. And kids in the community are so restless with being inside – first from COVID-19 and now from this unrest, so my Best friend and I started raising funds from friends and family as of late last week Saturday. We are dropping off donations at the below places, but the list is still growing. Please keep our communities, family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
Please join me in showing our colleague, peer, and friend, Tayis, our support during this pivotal time in her community, as well as around the globe. The work she set out to do has immense impact for those in need during these difficult times. These communities should not have to worry about feeding their families while also fighting for their rights and most importantly, their lives.
