We Need Your Help After Losing Everything in a Horrible Moving Scam
(picture is my sister & myself my sister doesn’t post her kids on social media)
Hi friends,
I’m writing this with a heavy heart, hoping for some support in a time of unimaginable hardship. My sister, her two young children (ages 1 and 3), and I made a big move from Colorado to Tennessee, hoping for a fresh start. We hired a moving company to help us with the transition, but what was supposed to be an exciting new chapter in our lives quickly turned into a nightmare. The moving company we trusted stole everything we owned. Absolutely everything.
The emotional impact of losing so much is beyond words, but I’ll try my best to explain. My sister’s two little ones lost all of their baby items—everything from toys to clothes, to their bed sets. These items weren’t just material things—they were a part of their childhood and comfort. It breaks my heart to know that her babies, at such a young age, now have nothing familiar to hold onto in this new home.
On top of that, my sister’s work equipment was taken as well. She works remotely, and the movers took her computer, monitors, and all of her bedroom belongings. Without her work tools, she can’t do her job and is left feeling completely displaced and powerless.
As for me, I’m a hairstylist, and all of my tools were taken too. Shears, blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons, extension kits—everything I rely on to make a living is gone. Without my tools, I have no way to continue doing what I love and supporting my family.
But the losses didn’t stop there. All of my clothes were taken too, and those of you who know me know how much I love my clothes. Losing everything I worked hard for is incredibly difficult to process. Along with my personal items, the movers also took all of our living room furniture—couches, rugs, end tables, and our TV. We also don’t have a washer or dryer, so we’re left without the most basic comforts. We even lost all of our kitchen essentials, which makes even simple daily tasks feel impossible.
Right now, we are trying to get by and replace everything. It’s hard knowing that all the things that made it feel like home are gone. The stress, grief, and uncertainty we’re facing are overwhelming.
We’ve reported the theft and are doing everything we can to take legal action, but the process is slow, and we need help right now. If you can donate, no matter how much, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit will help us replace what we’ve lost and start rebuilding our lives. We are so deeply grateful for any support you can offer, whether it’s a donation, a share, or just a word of encouragement.
Please know that your kindness will help us move forward and begin to heal from this difficult time. We’re doing our best to stay strong, but we need a little help to get back on our feet.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give. We couldn’t do this without you.
