Hi friends,

One of the Tanzania UWC alumni, a rising sophomore at Luther College, is held in the Winneshiek County jail in Iowa. He has been charged with a Class C felony, has pleaded not guilty, and is scheduled for a Sept 3rd pre-trial court hearing. He has been assigned a public lawyer to represent him at the moment. We have been advised to get him a dedicated lawyer with enough experience representing international students (clients) to represent him to ensure that he stands a chance and gets a fair trial in court. We found a lawyer based in Iowa willing to take the case and needs a starting amount of $4,000 on retainer to represent him.
