Please help us to support Tania and her children: Sean, Siena and Iker.
This is not only intended to support this family, but to create awareness of a
very difficult reality that hundreds of mothers are suffering. This could be
your sister, daughter or friend. Mothers and children trapped in foreign
countries, in this case the UAE (Dubai) without any resources. Tania’s
sister Eva, who is based in Spain, will publish the fundraiser as GoFundMe
is not available in the UAE.
In January 2019, Tania's husband left the family after his long-term affair
with a co-worker came to light. This is not that unusual of course, it
happens right? The trouble is they live in a foreign country. Tania and her
children are trapped and unable to return to Spain or UK, as they are being
maliciously prevented by her husband. Their basic human rights to return to
their country are being violated. There is no support in the UAE for single
mothers.
In Dubai you are completely dependent on your Sponsor, in this case her
husband (and his company). He is a partner at one of “The Big Four “.
Early on in the situation she contacted his company to seek support and
guidance. She was ignored and actually threatened on the basis of
defamation of character.
She is in desperate need of funds for Court fees and legal representation to
defend and protect her and her children’s rights. She has tried everything.
I have asked her to write her experiences herself, however I and many
others have witnessed the disgraceful treatment they have received over
the past 4 years.
I appreciate this might be a long story to read. It is a complicated one and I
thank you in advance to take the time to read it.
My name is Tania. My children and I are facing very difficult circumstances.
They are all suffering emotionally and educationally due to a series of
events over the past 4 years. When their father left, I naturally thought the
children and I would relocate to Spain or the UK. However, this has not
been the case.
When I was asked to surrender my children, I had to file for divorce in
Scotland. There was no other choice, he wanted to remove the children
from me, their mother, and send them to Scotland to live and be raised by
their paternal grandmother. This was very shocking to me and my
children. The divorce was contested which really raises the cost. A cost he
knows I can’t afford.
I have been a stay at home mum since my first child was born (now 15
years old). I had to give up my career to take care of the children while their
father’s career progressed. He travelled a lot. He eventually became a
partner in the company. I had always worked before starting a family.
I have been unable to defend myself during the divorce proceedings
because of the lack of funds and I am forced to attend the hearings in
Scotland myself without proper legal advice. The case is still ongoing.
The children’s father then proceeded to file a divorce case in Dubai (Sharia
Law) also asking for custody. I had to defend myself without a lawyer and
having to resort to translators which I struggled to pay. Fortunately, he did
not succeed.
He then proceeded to start an eviction case in Spain against my mother
who suffers from dementia.
This man has unfairly taken everything he possibly can from us, including
our freedom.
The children were suddenly removed from their school without my
knowledge or consent. This was devastating for them. The children’s
journey to school now is 1h 30 min…
After that he stopped paying our rent and we were evicted. The children
were present when they broke the locks to enter the house. This was
shocking and traumatizing for the children. He placed us in a community
which is literally in the middle of the desert leaving me with no opportunities
to find employment, which is a priority for me to be able to provide for my
children...
My eldest son has also been put through the court proceedings when his
father submitted a relocation motion to send him to Scotland. He was
interviewed by a welfare officer and forced to choose.
All of this comes with financial restraint and abuse as I barely receive
enough for basic needs for the children and myself, despite his position and
his very generous earnings, as well as emotional and coercive abuse.
This has naturally taken a toll on all of us. My oldest, Sean, has been
diagnosed with depression, conduct disorder and ODD. He refuses to go to
school and his education is now on the line. My daughter Siena suffers
from anxiety and Iker, my youngest is also suffering emotionally. We also
have pets that I probably should surrender as I am no longer able to
maintain them, but the children can’t bear the thought…. I now have to
consider selling our car as I can’t afford to keep or maintain it. This would
be devastating given our location.
The children have not travelled out of the UAE for 4 years now. His father
placed a travel ban on them.
I am now facing yet another Court case in Dubai (2nd one) in which I hope
the children will be awarded the necessary support, once again without a
lawyer. This is currently happening whilst the Scottish case is still ongoing.
My main goal is to move to a country where I have opportunities to rebuild
my life. I am “not allowed to do this”.
You truly can’t appreciate your freedom until it’s taken away from
you.
Please help to fund legal expenses and sustainability and get this
family to safety. Unfortunately, if you are in the UAE you will not be

En enero de 2019, el esposo de Tania abandonó a la familia después de que su larga relación con una compañera de trabajo salió a la luz. Esto no es tan inusual, por supuesto, sucede ¿verdad?. El problema es que viven en un país extranjero. Tania y los niños están atrapados y no pueden regresar a España o al Reino Unido, ya que está siendo impedido e impuesto según sus reglas de su marido. Sus derechos humanos básicos de regresar a su país están siendo violados, y por esto fuera poco, no hay ningún tipo de ayuda en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos para madres solteras.
En Dubái dependes completamente de tu Patrocinador, en este caso su
esposo (y su compañía). Él es socio de uno de lo que llaman "Los Cuatro Grandes".
Cuando todo esto empezó, Tania se puso en contacto con su compañía para buscar apoyo y orientación y fue ignorada y amenazada en base de difamación de carácter. Con esa excusa dieron por zanjado el tema.
Ella necesita fondos desesperadamente para los gastos judiciales y representación legal para defender y proteger sus derechos y los de sus hijos. Lo ha intentado todo sin éxito.
Le he pedido que escriba su historia a pesar de que muchas personas y yo hemos sido testigos del vergonzoso maltrato que han recibido durante los últimos 4 años.
Soy consciente que es una larga historia para leer, pero por favor no la ignoren y solo les pido un pequeño esfuerzo y lo hagan para poder entender más. Les doy las gracias de antemano por tomarse su valioso tiempo en leer esta cruda y triste realidad que mucha gente desconoce y que pasa mas habitualmente de lo que nos imaginamos.
Me llamo Tania. Mis hijos y yo nos enfrentamos a unas circunstancias muy difíciles. Todos estamos sufriendo emocionalmente y mis hijos también lo están sufriendo académicamente, debido a una serie de eventos en los últimos 4 años.
Cuando su padre nos abandonó, naturalmente pensé que los niños y yo nos trasladaríamos a España o al Reino Unido. Sin embargo, este no ha sido así.
Cuando me dijo que les entregara a mis hijos, tuve que solicitar el divorcio en
Escocia, no había otra opción, él quería a los niños para llevárselos a Escocia a vivir y ser criados por su abuela paterna. Esto fue muy impactante para mí y para mis niños. El divorcio fue impugnado, lo que realmente aumenta el costo. Un costo que él sabe que no puedo pagar.
He cuidado de mis hijos desde que nació el primero (ahora tiene 15 años). Tuve que renunciar a mi carrera para cuidar de los niños mientras la carrera del padre progresó. Viajaba mucho.
Finalmente se convirtió en Socio en la empresa. Yo siempre trabajé antes de formar una familia. No he podido defenderme durante el proceso de divorcio debido a la falta de fondos y me veo obligada a asistir a las audiencias, telemáticamente en Escocia, yo misma, sin el asesoramiento legal adecuado. El caso aún está en curso.
El padre de los niños después procedió a presentar una demanda de divorcio en Dubái (Ley Sharía) pidiendo también la custodia y yo tuve que defenderme sin abogado y tener que recurrir a traductores que me costó mucho pagar. Afortunadamente, la demanda, no tuvo éxito.
Luego inició una demanda de desahucio en España contra mi madre que sufre de demencia.
Este hombre nos ha quitado todo lo que ha podido injustamente, hasta nuestra libertad.
Los niños fueron cambiados repentinamente de su escuela sin mi
conocimiento o consentimiento, y esto fue devastador para ellos.
El trayecto a la escuela ahora es de 1h 30 minutos solo de ida y 1h 30 minutos de vuelta a casa.
Después de eso dejó de pagar nuestro alquiler y fuimos desahuciados. Los niños estaban presentes cuando rompieron las cerraduras para entrar a la casa e impactante y traumatizante para ellos. Él nos realojó en una comunidad
que está literalmente en medio del desierto, aislados, dejándome sin oportunidades de encontrar empleo, que es una prioridad para mí para poder mantener a mis hijos...
Mi hijo mayor también ha sido sometido a los procedimientos judiciales cuando su padre presentó una moción de reubicación para enviarlo a Escocia. Fue
entrevistado por servicios sociales de Escocia y obligado a elegir.
Toda esta situación va acompañada con restricción y abuso financiero, ya que apenas recibo suficiente para las necesidades básicas de los niños a pesar de la posición y ganancias del padre que son muy generosas, así como abuso emocional y coercitivo (abuso de poder).
Naturalmente, esto nos ha afectado a todos. Mi hijo mayor, Sean, ha sido
diagnosticado con depresión, trastorno de conducta y ODD. Se niega a ir a
la escuela y su educación ahora está en juego. Mi hija Siena sufre
de ansiedad y Iker, mi hijo menor, también está sufriendo emocionalmente. Tenemos mascotas que ya que no puedo mantener…
Ahora tengo que considerar vender el coche ya que no puedo permitirme el lujo de mantenerlo y esto sería devastador dada nuestra ubicación.
Los niños no han viajado fuera de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos durante 4 años. Su padre les impuso una prohibición de viajar.
Ahora me enfrento a otro caso judicial en Dubái (el segundo) una vez más sin un abogado y mientras el caso escocés sigue en curso.
Mi objetivo principal es mudarme a un país donde tenga oportunidades de reconstruir mi vida. "No se me permite hacer esto".
Realmente uno no aprecia la libertad hasta que nos la quitan.
