Tanaya Hudson, a long-time friend of mine and Sam’s, is an incredible Christian woman. We met over 20 years ago when she coached our youngest daughter. Before moving to another country, she had a genuine desire to give and help others. This led her to embark on a journey to minister to less fortunate individuals in another country. Tanaya is the most selfless person I know. She consistently helps others during their time of need, but she never expects anything in return.
I had suggested that we create a GoFundMe campaign to support Tanaya and her family during this difficult time. Initially, she was hesitant to participate, as she has always been a giver rather than a taker. Tanaya and her daughter, Nevaeh, have not only lost their beloved pet but also the companion they considered their little brother. My heart aches for them as they grapple with this horrific and tragic loss. If you can, please consider contributing to the GoFundMe campaign to help them during this challenging time.
After serving on the mission field in India for 12 years, Tanaya and her daughter Nevaeh returned to the United States. Transitioning back as a single parent and starting their life over was a challenging endeavor. Nevaeh, being the only child, felt lonely, which is why her mother was able to save up to afford a beautiful Labradordoodle named Oliver. They recently moved into a new home with a spacious backyard, where her mother set up a pool, swing, and an outdoor play area for them to enjoy.
On Good Friday, their peaceful existence was shattered when two pit bulls from their neighbors brutally attacked Oliver. Tanaya and Nevaeh found him lying by her swing, barely breathing. Rushing him to the vet, they discovered that Oliver had severe brain injuries and mangled, broken legs. Despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
This tragedy is unimaginable and no child should ever experience such a loss. We are deeply saddened, yet grateful that it was Oliver and not Nevaeh. The neighbors are denying any responsibility, and we are hopeful that animal control will intervene and remove the neglected pit bulls from their kennels
I’ve created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover Oliver’s veterinary expenses. Tanaya and Nevaeh are going through a tough time, and this will provide some relief. It won’t erase their pain or replace their beloved Oliver, but it will certainly help alleviate their financial burden.
