Tampa Bay Street Medicine is a student organization at USF Health dedicated to improving the health of vulnerable populations in our community. Through outreach on the streets and in local shelters, and via TBSM-run free clinics, we seek to provide medical care, education, and community connections to the unhoused, unsheltered, and those within 200% of the poverty limit in the Tampa Bay Area.
Our primary goal of this fundraiser is to raise funds to support our patients and their families this upcoming holiday season. We hope to host a holiday dinner where we can feed our patients, connect as a community, and provide gift cards for them to buy basic amenities and gifts for their loved ones.
A secondary goal of this fundraiser is to expand the supplies and services that TBSM provides. This includes clothing and blankets for the winter, basic hygiene supplies, and basic medical supplies, including but not limited to Voltaren gel and blood pressure cuffs/monitors.
Every dollar donated will be utilized to give back to our patients within our community. Funds initially will be used to bring the holiday celebration to life, and any remaining contributions will strengthen our ability to care for patients year-round.
For those wishing to contribute but may not be able to do so financially, we are planning upcoming physical donation drives, where we will be taking blankets, clothing, books, writing/coloring supplies, toys, and any other items that can brighten our patient’s lives and meet their needs. For those who wish to offer additional support, an Amazon wishlist of items TBSM hopes to provide is available here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/AUG67UO0CU88?ref_=wl_share
