Support Talonna's Journey to Higher Education

Ayukii To Our River Community,

This fundraiser is for Talonna, a local Karuk Native woman, mother, and aunty to all. We are trying to help out a mother who is always so busy helping everyone else. Talonna has been raising people in our community, a momma to all, when she was still a child herself. She is the younger aunty who has helped to raise many of her nieces and currently a nephew, alongside her own children. Talonna has spent many late nights finding other Native relatives, caring for them, old and young, when they were in a time in their lives when her help made the difference between life or death. Talonna has also been a hugely active member of the Karuk and greater River community. You can always find her fundraising for a school field trip, cooking for another event, or rushing around various people's kids to practices. She still finds time to also care for her elders as a certified IHS worker as well.

Now, Talonna is trying to be able to better care for her family and the greater community by completing her higher education degree so she can immediately put it to use in her current position as a local school administrator and in her future goals of being in tribal leadership. She has always secured scholarships for her goals in the past, but a clerical error has her contemplating deferment right at the finish line. She needs help to make minimum payments on an emergency school loan and to keep it active. This fundraiser will cover that basic cost. She will always put her family's needs first, but let's help her put herself first this time. Not just for her, but for the good she does in our community and will continue to do with our support.
