My name is Chris Shaw - I met my dear friend Talisha Holmes years ago through the music scene (thanks Evan Oberla) - we started singing together and she lent her brilliance to many songs throughout the years whether that would be traveling to different cities and playing 4 hour bar gigs, or recording and writing songs together. I have had the privilege of playing on her sets with her band as well and we have become friends. She has introduced me to SO many amazing musicians that have not only enriched my life but have also become part of the fabric of my every day. Being a musician is a difficult life to say the least, especially when you are paying bills with it. Some times are good, and some times are very hard. Without being too public, and protecting her privacy - add chronic life long health struggles to the problems and we are climbing up hill a lot in life. The other day, she was driving on the road and a man beside her was yelling out his window "get out of the car". She thought that's a bit strange, and kept going, he persisted. She stopped the car only realizing then that her car was literally in FLAMES. Needless to say, her car is completely totaled, and luckily she is unharmed physically.

Being a human rights activist, a brilliant songwriter, an amazing empathetic sweet person, we need Talisha to get to her gigs, and fill others with her amazing music. It's time to come together as a community and help Talisha continue her music dreams by the collective power of community and get her a new car. I recently looked for a used car myself and found you gotta have around 20,000 to get something decent. If we can raise more, that's amazing - the last thing I want to do is get her a car with MORE problems. We can do this. Thank you so much!
