My name is Amy and I live in Augusta, Ga! Some may think of Augusta as THE place to live as a golfer. However, there is another layer to uncover and that is what my mission with Take A Swing CSRA Co. is all about! There are so many who desire to start a journey in golf yet they are held back most times by the financial barriers to go from wanting to play to getting clubs in their hands. Take A Swing CSRA’s goal is to eliminate that initial financial barrier! Making golf more inclusive and more attainable! The way we do this is by acquiring old golf clubs, bags, balls and so on. From thrift stores, yard sales, Facebook marketplace or local golf shops! Some even come in the form of a donation from the incredible people in the csra golf community! As of now Take A Swing CSRA Co. is recognized as a non-profit in the state of Ga! However we are awaiting the ability to achieve 503(c) status. This means that at the moment I am unable to accept donations that can be tax deductible to those who choose to give. I have been self funding this mission and have had great success so far! My initial goal was to get golf clubs into 50 peoples hands during the first year, I am close to 30 after the first month and a half! Women, men, kids, moms, dads, grandparents! We’ve kickstarted many golf journeys already and cannot wait for those to come!

This is where I need your help, since we are not yet in 503(c) status, which can take over 6 months to achieve, I am unable to successfully create partnerships, apply for grants for funding or many of the other options there are that keep most nonprofits you see afloat. While I have been able to keep up with demand for a while by self funding and receiving some donations of gear, I have now found myself in a place where the demand simply outweighs the supply. This is where I am asking for your support. Anything raised with this go fund me will go towards the following things:

golf clubs

golf bags

golf balls

golf gloves

golf tees

club cleaning supplies

new club grips for re-gripping(which I do on my own to forego cost of labor)

odds and ends that need replacing as tools used to clean and refresh golf clubs wears down swiftly!
