The Gold Award is the highest honor in Girl Scouts, earned by those who show perseverance, grit, and a deep commitment to making a difference. Tabitha has been a proud member of the Girl Scouts for 11 years, always looking for ways to improve her community. Now, as she pursues her Gold Award, she’s taking on a project that will have a lasting impact on families in Rochester, NY.
Tabitha’s Gold Award project will benefit Matthew’s Closet, a local clothing ministry and thrift shop that has been serving the community for over 30 years. Located at 316 Bay Street, Matthew’s Closet is a ministry of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish and has provided clothing to those in need since 1991, regardless of their ability to pay. The shop is funded in part by the sale of gently used clothing and housewares, but it also offers free clothing—especially essential winter gear—to individuals and families who need it most. Many of the people served rely on public transportation and walking, making warm coats, boots, hats, and gloves absolutely essential during Rochester’s harsh winters.
Tabitha’s project will help Matthew’s Closet by creating a better storage system for clothing donations and improving the organization of the storage space. This will allow the ministry to continue meeting the physical and social needs of the community, ensuring everyone has access to warmth, dignity, and the opportunity to succeed. Your support will help Tabitha make a real difference for families in need.
Please consider supporting Tabitha's Gold project so she can help even more families that are in need.
