We are raising funds to support Syleethia Carr, founder and director of Not Me–I Believe, an anti-bullying nonprofit rooted in love, healing, and justice.

For years, Syleethia has been at the forefront of community struggles — advocating for affordable housing, standing with families impacted by family policing and youth incarceration, and fighting to keep families together and housed. As someone who has experienced these same struggles firsthand, Syleethia has turned her pain into power, making it her mission to support others.

Syleethia does this work not for recognition, but out of love. She often uses her own money, gas, and time to show up for families in need. She is a trusted friend, a leader in the Transformative Futures Program, Virginia Youth Justice Coalition and the Southeast Family Freedom Alliance, and someone who will always answer the call when her community needs her.

Now, we are asking the community to show up for Syleethia. She urgently needs support with rent. basic living expenses, and caring for her grandson, who she is raising. The same woman who has poured so much into building safety and hope for others now needs us to pour back into her.
