Support Syd's Café Staff After Curt's Passing

Help the staff of Syd’s Café

Curt Clark, the owner of the popular Syd’s Café in Tahoe City, died on Monday, March 17, 2025, forcing the closure of the eatery and putting a number of local employees out of work. The staff and the local community are heart-broken over Curt’s death.

The staff is hoping that the café will reopen in the coming weeks, but they need the community’s support as they find themselves suddenly out of jobs. As well, they are hoping to plan a gathering to celebrate Curt’s life in a few weeks. I am in touch with Syd’s manager on these efforts.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Curt’s family. Curt was beloved by so many in the Tahoe City community.
