Hello, I am Swapnil Gumpina, a Life Scout working towards Eagle Rank. My Eagle Scout Project is to renovate and remodel Labyrinth behind the South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church in Charlotte NC, where my Troop 119 is based. I been part of this Troop for past 12 years as both both as Cubs Scout, and now as Boys Scout. This Chruch central part of my journey and with this Eagle project, I want to give it back to the church.
This project involve removing weeds and other extra growing plants in the area, replacing the gravel existing on the
labyrinth, and planting new bushes or small trees in the plant beds in the nearby area. This project would
be beneficial to the local community, as the church children groups use the area as a play area and a
book club also uses it as a meditation area.
This project is specifically meaningful to me as I helped build it as a rookie Boy Scout for Colin Xu’s Eagle
Project, so helping renovate something I also helped build as one of my final acts as a Boy Scout in Troop
119 would be personally important and meaningful to me.
