My dearest friend Suzy remains in the grip of debilitating chronic illness. I have seen her battle this horrific condition for over 16 years and it’s beyond heartbreaking. After not being able to get a hold of her for months, she finally reached out and told me that that she can no longer use her phone or watch TV because the lights set off a seizure.
For some time she was improving, but due to a severe mold issue in her apartment, she has been bedridden for months in a place that is not conducive to her healing. Still suffering from severe spasms, tremors, heart palpitations and vertigo that are triggered on a dime, even standing up for has become difficult.
8 years into her illness she was about to move back home to live with her parents when they both died suddenly and unexpectedly. Fortunately through it all she had her best friend of 29 years Leslie in her court. But then she too suddenly died in April.
Healthy Suzy is the most funny, jolly, smart and compassionate person I know. She spent her days rescuing stray animals and giving money, clothes and food to the homeless. But sadly now, after spending all of her savings on medical treatments, she herself is truly bereft and desperate.
I know when she gets free of this she will continue to do much good in the world. She just needs to get her out of this unhealthy apartment. She would like to buy an RV or van which she could convert to a mold free living situation tailored to her needs. Lets help her do it!
