Help Teren Assist Their Family

Hello, my name is Teren, and I am fundraising to help pay the bills after my grandmother's death.

On April 21, 2022, my gigi, Arlena Cressman, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a massive heart attack. She left behind a daughter with multiple disabilities (my mother) and three grandchildren. Though I am technically a grandchild, my relationship with Arlena was nuanced and complex, as she was a mother figure to me in the earliest and most chaotic years of my childhood.

My family and I are stunned at this enormous loss and would love nothing more than to be able to rest and reconcile our tectonic amounts of grief. However, the reality is that the business of death does not wait.

Unfortunately, we have a lot of business to attend to in a cruel amount of time. There is a Reverse Mortgage to deal with, probate, attorney fees, keeping the house from foreclosure, fixing it up, selling it for (hopefully) a profit and then securely re-housing my mother. So far, I have been the only one able to pay for anything and am at my limit of what I can do independently. All of this is ocurring while I exist on the opposite coast and single-handedly run a small business.

Saying I am pressed and need help is an understatement.

So here I am. Asking for help in ways that, for me, are radical and break the Karmic cycles of survival and shame.

Here is the breakdown of what this money will pay for :

attorney $3000

cremation$1600

past bills of grandma's house $600

This total of $5200 will reimburse what I have already spent, not including the first or second round of transportation.

Helping me allows me to continue going to Florida, where I need to help my family handle this hands-on and pay my own bills while needing to take time off of work.

the remaining $8,800 will be split roughly like this:

-$2,000 toward my transportation to and from Florida.

I will need to go back and forth multiple times, and the cost to fly to Florida right now is crazier than I've ever seen.

This amount will not cover all of it. It will simply lessen the blow.

-$1800 future bills of grandma's house (x6 mos)

-$3,000 toward sellers fees/title transfer when selling the house

-$1,000 on hold for extra attorney fees. if not used for that, it will help us get boxes, movers, and storage.

-$1,000 toward GoFundMe fees

Being this vulnerable is terrifying. Letting the world know that I cant handle everything is super duper scary. But, doing this helps me honor my grandmother and help my mother, and it allows me to help myself from feeling like I'm drowning trying to do all of this myself.
