Starbucks Workers United at the Sunset and Gower store in Hollywood have launched an open-ended labor strike. This strike is part of a larger movement, but these funds will go directly to support the workers at this specific store.

We at the Sunset and Gower location are facing the same, systemic problems seen in Starbucks stores everywhere: short staffing, unpredictable scheduling, low pay, rising healthcare costs, harassment, broken equipment, and unfair discipline. Through worker-to-worker organizing, we have shown that it’s possible to address these issues by taking a unified stand. However, lasting change can only be achieved through a fair union contract. Despite the union’s efforts and some important wins, Starbucks continues to delay and stonewall during contract negotiations, leaving workers with no choice but to take action.
