In Loving Memory of Travis Sundell

On Friday, May 2nd, a heartbreaking and unexpected tragedy struck the Flagler Beach community. Travis Sundell, beloved husband, father, friend, and owner of SunBros Café, passed away suddenly from an aortic aneurysm. His passing has left a void that words cannot fill.

Travis and Leigh Ann Sundell moved to Flagler Beach from Illinois with a dream to raise their two teenage sons in a close-knit community and open a place where people could gather over great food and warm conversation. In the spring of 2021, that dream became a reality with the opening of SunBros Café, which quickly became more than just a restaurant,it became a second home for many in our town.

Travis was the heart and soul of SunBros. He worked side by side with his wife and sons every day, pouring love and energy into the café and the people who walked through its doors. He was known for his sharp wit, generous spirit, and infectious smile. Whether you needed a helping hand, a warm meal, or just a good laugh, Travis was there. Always.

Now it’s our turn to be there for the Sundell family.

We are raising funds to support Leigh Ann, their sons, and the dedicated SunBros staff during this incredibly difficult time. These donations will allow the family and team to take the time they need to grieve and begin healing without the immediate pressure of running a full-time restaurant. It will help cover household and business expenses, staff support, and anything else needed in the coming weeks as they navigate life without their beloved Travis.

Flagler Beach is a community built on love and resilience. Travis and Leigh Ann have always shown up for us,donating, volunteering, and offering kindness whenever it was needed. Now, we ask you to show up for them.
