Every year, thousands of people experiencing homelessness suffer from sunburn, skin damage, and an increased risk of skin cancer simply because they don't have access to basic sun protection.
I started Care Is Equity to change that. Through this fundraiser, we are raising money to provide sun safety kits to homeless shelters. Each kit will include dermatologist-recommended sunscreen, moisturizer, lip protection, and simple educational materials on staying safe under the sun.
Many shelters do not offer these essential items, even though people without housing often spend hours outside in direct sunlight. For people of color, the risks are often overlooked. This is more than just a skincare issue. It is a public health issue that reflects a much deeper inequality.
Your support will allow us to deliver protection and dignity to those who need it most. Together, we can help ensure that everyone, no matter their housing status or skin tone, is given the care they deserve.
Thank you for being part of this mission.
