SUN Mutual Aid Fund: Supporting Our Neighbors Across the Twin Cities
Recent ICE occupation in Minnesota has forced many of our neighbors and friends to shelter at home. The safety and well-being of these families is deeply important to all of us. Our community is strong and engaged, and right now, those most directly impacted need our collective support.
How We Started
The SUN Donation Station began as a simple porch-based effort to provide care packages for neighbors sheltering at home.
What started as neighbors checking on neighbors quickly grew beyond our block. Requests began coming in from families across the greater Twin Cities metro—people who didn't have a local mutual aid network to turn to. Rather than redirect families to research and navigate a patchwork of different systems, we decided to simply say YES.
What Your Support Does:
- Groceries and essential household goods
- Housing and utility assistance (as needed).
- Care packages to help children and families feel seen and cared for.
This fund is managed by the founder of the SUN Donation Station and two dedicated organizers. For the safety and privacy of those we serve, we maintain strict discretion and do not share names publicly.
How You Can Help
