Support Sue Morrison's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tracey, and for the last three years, I have been privileged to call myself Sue's Boss. Sue Morrison has been an integral part of so many people's lives over the last several decades, and we are heartbroken by her passing.
Friday 8/9/24, Sue had been suffering from what she thought was just a nasty sore throat. By Friday night, she was rapidly declining and an ambulance was called. She was intubated in the ER as her lungs began to fail. Doctors determined that she had pneumonia due to a strep infection and may have also become septic. She was admitted to the ICU at Mayo Clinic for further care. While there, she required the assistance of life support to allow her lungs time to heal. The doctors were able to wean her off all sedation, but noted that she was not waking up. However, they were cautiously optimistic. During this, they also began antibiotics that were able to cross the blood/brain barrier, in the event that the infection had spread to her brain, which was likely at this point. On Thursday 8/15/24, Sue opened her eyes spontaneously at someone saying her name. Unfortunately, as the weekend progressed, she again began to decline and after exhaustive efforts on the part of the ICU team, Sue passed at 6:25PM 8/19/24.
Sue was a beacon of positivity and light in times of uncertainty and despair. She was a tremendous advocate and friend, and always made a point to go above and beyond to ensure each person she encountered felt heard and cared for. Her family needs us as a community to come together and support them in their greatest time of need, as that is what Sue would have done for all of us. All donations will go to her son, Will, for any funerary arrangements and necessities of care for Kaydence.
