Hi! We’re Sarah, Piper and Maya, we absolutely LOVE making slime. This year, we wanted to take something fun that we enjoy doing and use it to help other kids feel seen, supported, and celebrated during the holidays.
So we’re partnering with United Way’s Sub for Santa Program, an amazing organization that provides holiday gifts and essentials to children in families experiencing financial strain. These are kids right here in our community - mostly between ages 6 and 16 - who might not receive gifts this Christmas without a little help.
Why We’re Doing This
Slime is fun. Slime makes people smile. And we realized… maybe slime could also help us spread kindness.
Each child supported through Sub for Santa receives about $150–$175 in gifts. These aren’t just toys - they're:
- Books to help them learn
- Educational and creative toys
- Warm winter clothes
- Other items their families might struggle to afford
We want every child to have the chance to wake up on Christmas morning feeling loved and remembered.
Our Goal
We’re starting with a goal of $1,000, which will help 6 children.
But our dream (what our parents call a "stretch goal"!) is to raise $5,000 so we can sponsor 30 kids.
We know this is big. But we also know people are generous, especially when it comes to helping kids.
And we would LOVE to do this.
About United Way’s Sub for Santa Program
Sub for Santa is a trusted program that has been running for 40 years. Each year, United Way partners with local schools and nonprofits across Utah County to identify families who need a little extra help during the holidays.
Here’s how it works:
- Parents sign up for help in November and December
- United Way matches sponsors (like us!) with families
- Sponsors purchase and deliver Christmas gifts
Last year alone, the program supported:
- 6,966 children
- 2,603 families
- With the help of 1,346 sponsors
We’re excited to join that group this year, and we hope you’ll join us, too.
