Hello, I’m Greg, a school bus driver. About a year ago, I started working out initially at my doctor’s recommendation to lose weight, but I soon discovered a genuine enjoyment for fitness. This perspective shifted during a training session at the bus garage, where we learned how to properly use a fire extinguisher. Observing my fellow drivers struggle with the weight and awkwardness of the equipment made me reflect on our ability to respond in emergencies, particularly in scenarios where we might need to assist injured students.
This realization became a pivotal moment for me, motivating my commitment to fitness. I tested my strength with a wrestling dummy, which served as a humbling experience and solidified my purpose: to be strong and capable of protecting those who rely on me. I decided that strongman training would be the most effective way to achieve this goal, focusing on building the necessary strength and resilience.
Currently, I have a modest garage gym and access to a local facility, and I’m gradually acquiring specific strongman training equipment like sandbags and stones through platforms like Facebook Marketplace. However, some essential items remain financially out of reach. Additionally, I aspire to host "Strongman Sundays," providing a space for others to try out competition implements and train with equipment that is often hard to find in conventional gyms.
I plan to purchase a Rogue Y2 Yoke, axle bar, 10" Log bar, and a set of Cerberus Husafel sandbags.
