As some of you may know, my brother Steve has been battling MDS/MPN Overlap Syndrome-U, a form of blood cancer requiring a bone marrow transplant. He’s heading to Sloan Kettering in Manhattan in early January to undergo aggressive chemo and then the transplant. He’ll be in isolation at Sloan for about a month and then moved to a NYC Hope House where he’ll be monitored for another 2 months. He’ll be alone for the first month due to immune issues, then his wife Lauren will join him for the next 2 months to help care for him.
