Support Steve An’s Cancer Battle

My name is Valerie Lee, and I come before you today seeking your support for my brother, Steven An. His life forever changed when he received the heart-wrenching news of an aggressive form of cancer. During this difficult time, I turn to you, as we embark on a journey to surround Steve with love, strength, and the resources he needs to face this battle.

On April 19th, 2023, a day that should have been filled with joy as Steve celebrated his 50th birthday, the world delivered a cruel blow. The diagnosis came: Stage 4 Poorly Differentiated NSCLC Sarcomatoid Carcinoma. Steve, a loving son, brother, husband, and superhero dad to his young sons, Jaxon (6) and Eithan (2), now faces a daunting challenge.

It all started with upper abdominal pains, prompting Steve to seek medical attention. Through blood tests and ultrasounds, a 2-inch tumor was discovered in his liver. Confirmatory CT scans revealed the presence of cancer, setting him on this difficult path.

Steve has already undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, but there are many more to come. As the sole provider for his family, Steve made the difficult decision to stop working to focus entirely on his treatment. However, the burden of cancer extends beyond the physical and emotional realm; it brings financial hardships as well. The funds we raise here will be for Steve and his devoted wife, Katie, helping them to offset the mounting medical expenses and secure a future for their precious children.
