Help Stephen Lewis Fight Colon Cancer

Stephen Lewis is a playful, adventurous dad and grandpa. At 60 years old, he should be spending his days doing what he loves: skiing, boating with his grandkids, diving into jazz music, and talking history with anyone who’ll listen.

Instead, he’s facing one of life’s hardest mountains: a colon cancer diagnosis.

After weeks of testing, scans, and biopsies, Stephen has been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer. He will begin six months of intensive chemotherapy — combining both IV infusions and oral medications. Treatments will start soon and continue into early 2026.

While doctors are hopeful that this treatment can cure the cancer, it comes with a heavy toll physically, emotionally, and financially. Stephen may not be able to work through chemotherapy, and the out-of-pocket medical expenses alone, even with insurance, are expected to be over $15,000

‍‍‍ A Family That’s Been Here Before

Stephen’s wife, Maria Lewis, is herself a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer in July 2017 and courageously underwent chemotherapy, surgeries, and radiation to fight for her life to remain here with her children.

Together, Maria and Stephen have raised six children, with their youngest now entering his senior year of high school. They are proud grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren — with one more on the way.
