Witnessing secondhand from the Midwest the devastating impact Hurricane Helene has left on the land and in the lives of our neighbors in Asheville, NC struck a chord so deeply within me that I felt the need to do what I can to provide my services in any which way possible, the very least I could do. I don’t just want to donate money from a distance, I want to be physically present and hands-on in the trenches with my brothers and sisters. Being the case that I have a car and a flexible schedule with work, I decided it was my duty to gather supplies, pack it up and head southeast. After reaching out to some users on instagram I learned that they are in need of outerwear and winter apparel, baby clothes, and blankets as the cold weather is approaching. I will be delivering goods, as well as working with Samaritans Purse to help clean up and rebuild structures. Unfortunately, they are at full capacity for overnight volunteers so I will have to provide my own accommodation and food. In addition to these expenses, taking time off work, gas and the money I’ve invested in the collection of products I’ve purchased (receipts and images will be uploaded to photos of this post) certainly racks up financially. And so, I am putting my story out there for people like you, interested enough to offer your time and attention, to see if you would be so kind as to donate to my cause on behalf of all who would be affected. As for accommodations, I plan to camp, so board will cost $30 per night ($160 total). Gas will be roughly $350. So far $300 has been put into the blankets, clothes and coats I’ve purchased but the more finances received, the more supplies I can give. They may also be in need of building supplies I presume. Any contribution will help. Thank you so much for reading and should you choose to donate I am most appreciative from the bottom of my heart. May God continue to bless you.
Stefanie.
