My name is Kortney and I am Starr’s aunt. I’m organizing this fundraiser to support my niece, Starr, and her parents during this challenging time.

Our sweet Starr is currently fighting one of the toughest battles of her life. After being admitted for severe liver complications, a recent biopsy has revealed that 60–80% of her liver is damaged. While this news is devastating, there is hope. If Starr can maintain her levels, when removed from dialysis there is a chance for regrowth. If not, she will require transplant.

Starr is a tiny but mighty girl, and her body has a long road ahead. Recovery is still uncertain, and every day brings new challenges. But the support we’ve received from the community — through donor applications, shares, messages, and prayers — has been nothing short of incredible. We are so grateful.

Right now, her mom and dad are staying full-time in Madison to be by her side. They’ve missed work and will continue to stay away from home for the foreseeable future. We’re starting this fundraiser to help cover their bills, food, lodging, future expenses, and other basic needs while they focus on what matters most — being there for Starr during this critical time.
