My name is Roman Lane and I am a Scout working on my Eagle Rank. For my Eagle Project, I am partnering with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Dallas to improve their StudyTime classroom. Any extra funds will be given back to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Dallas. Please read below to learn How Your Charitable Contributions can help local students.

Why I'm Doing This

During my years with Troop 298 and as a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi (Frisco) I have volunteered almost every year with St. Vincent de Paul's charitable collection drives. Through this experience I also learned about St. Vincent de Paul's wider impact on young people through the StudyTime program. I also recently received the sacrament of Confirmation, which lit in me an urge to connect my faith with my Eagle Project goals. As a student who benefits from educational support myself, helping StudyTime families stands out as an important cause.

Why This Matters

StudyTime offers tutoring and homework support for families who may not be able to afford private tutoring options. Our plan is to improve the Dallas StudyTime Classroom by installing improved cabinetry and an updated interactive whiteboard. This will offer a greater level of support with lessons. This matters because all students should have access to classrooms that are fully equipped to meet their learning needs.
