HELP ST. JUDE CELEBRATE A LEGACY OF EQUITY AND HOPE FOR CHILDREN
SHORT CAMPAIGN SUMMARY

We’re honoring World Sickle Cell Day with our inaugural gala, St. Jude Celebrates: A Legacy of Equity, on June 21, 2025. Join us in raising funds to support St. Jude families so they never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food.
THE STORY
WHO I AM

Hi, I'm Lyndia Madison, and I proudly serve on the St. Jude Chicago African American Engagement Committee. Together, we are organizing our first-ever gala, St. Jude Celebrates: A Legacy of Equity, an evening dedicated to honoring lives, raising awareness, and supporting the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
WHY WE’RE RAISING FUNDS

On June 21, 2025, we will gather at The Wellesley in Chicago to commemorate World Sickle Cell Day and celebrate a legacy rooted in equity, care, and community.
This event will feature:
• A cocktail reception
• Elegant dinner and dancing
• A heartfelt message from a St. Jude patient speaker
• Opportunities to learn how St. Jude continues to lead the world in treating childhood cancer and sickle cell disease
All proceeds from this campaign and the event will go directly to ensuring families never receive a bill from St. Jude. Not for treatment. Not for travel. Not for housing. Not for food. Because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
OUR VISION

This gala is just the beginning. St. Jude Celebrates: A Legacy of Equity is more than an event, it’s a movement to ensure every child, no matter their background, has access to world-class treatment and the chance to thrive.
By supporting this campaign, you’re standing with us as we champion health equity and honor the resilience of children and families who rely on St. Jude every day.
HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED

We are seeking generous contributions to support the success of this gala and the mission it uplifts. Your donation will help:
• Offset event costs so more proceeds go directly to patient care
• Sponsor tickets for community leaders, caregivers, and advocates
• Support continued awareness for sickle cell disease and health equity in underserved communities
• Directly fund treatment, housing, meals, and travel for St. Jude families
Every dollar brings hope, healing, and a future for children facing life-threatening diseases.
CALL TO ACTION
You can support in two powerful ways:
• Donate any amount here on GoFundMe to support the cause directly.
• Join us at the event by purchasing a ticket for $250 at stjudeorglegacyofequity.

GRATITUDE & CLOSING
Thank you for being a part of this mission. Your generosity means more than words can express not only to us but to the families walking this journey every day. With your support, we’re creating more than a moment we’re building a legacy.
