Dear Lancer Alumni,

For 31 years, the St. Joseph Cross Country team has proudly hosted the Lancer Invite at the historic Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course at UW–Parkside. This race has become a tradition that has shaped generations of runners.

That tradition is now at risk. Parkside has raised course fees by 167%, and without support, the team may no longer be able to keep the meet at its home. Worse still, moving the race could mean losing the Invite altogether.

No one has worked harder to keep this legacy alive than Coach Jon Furreness. In recognition of his decades of dedication to our athletes and this meet, just recently, the event was renamed the Jon Furreness Lancer Invite.

We need your help to ensure the Invite continues at Parkside. Your gift—no matter the size—will directly support this tradition and allow future Lancers to share in the same pride and experiences that you once did.

To ensure this legacy continues, we are also planning to launch an annual fundraising event that will help offset costs and sustain the Invite for years to come. Thank you for helping us keep the Jon Furness Lancer Invite at Parkside.
