We are a student-led project, called Hope on the Table, committed to making a difference in our community and fighting food insecurity in Oxnard. We are raising funds to support the St. John’s Food Pantry, a nonprofit organization focused on helping the community by distributing balanced bags of food for those in need, free of charge. They rely on donations to purchase food items. Recently, less and less people have been reaching out and coming to the food pantry due to recent difficult social events, leading to fear in the community. Despite these issues, people continue to suffer from hunger and as fear has prevented many from reaching out, the problem of food insecurity has only heightened. Our goal is to bring awareness to this issue and support the St. John’s Food Pantry through donations. Every dollar helps and is a step towards reducing food insecurity in our community.
