Help Us Keep the Heart of Long Branch Beating — Support St. Brigid’s Pantry & Kitchen
St. Brigid’s Pantry & Kitchen is more than a food program — it’s a lifeline for thousands in Long Branch, NJ. Each month, we provide groceries to over 3,000 individuals and serve 1,200 hot meals to neighbors who might otherwise go without. We do this vital work from within the historic walls of St. James’ Episcopal Church — a beacon of compassion in our community since 1854.
But now, that beacon is at risk of going dark.
Rising costs and a shrinking congregation mean that St. James’ Church — the home of St. Brigid’s — is in danger of closing its doors. And if the doors close, so does the pantry.
Here’s the urgent truth: we need your help to ensure our mission continues.
What many may not realize is that St. Brigid’s Pantry & Kitchen is its own registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit — and we’re planning BIG things in the coming year to expand our impact and reach even more families in need. But to do that, we must keep our space open and operational. That means covering steep expenses like insurance ($10,000 per quarter) and utilities (over $36,000 annually), which are threatening to drown both the church and pantry in debt.
We’re asking for your support — not just to pay the bills, but to sustain a mission of dignity, nourishment, and hope. Your gift today will help:
Keep the pantry doors open and food flowing to families in need
Cover critical facility expenses that support daily operations
Secure the future of our nonprofit as we grow to meet rising demand
This isn’t just about saving a building — it’s about preserving a vital safety net in our community.
Please consider making a donation and sharing this campaign with others who believe that no one should go hungry.
Together, we can keep hope alive in Long Branch.
Thank you for your generosity — we truly can’t do this without you.
