Support Southern Utah Families Separated by ICE

Donation protected
Between August 17, 2025 and June 30, 2026, more than 740 of our neighbors were detained at Purgatory Correctional Facility in Hurricane, Utah.

Every week in Washington County, ICE and partners detain 10-20 of our coworkers, friends, and neighbors, leaving desperate family members staring at their phones, waiting for a call.

Manos Amigas Utah is launching The Southern Utah Immigrant Support Fund to provide urgent relief to families navigating the cruelty of mass deportation.

Each week, we are providing groceries and baby supplies for 20 to 30 families, costing about $2,000 a week. We need more funds to keep food on the table for families in crisis.

We can’t forget that these are our coworkers, our classmates, the parents of our children’s friends. This is not politics. It is real life for many of our neighbors.

You Can Make a Difference

Every day, we receive calls from new families separated from their loved ones by ICE. We need funds to help them call their loved ones in detention and to buy fresh food for their children.

  • Donate today. Every dollar buys food, formula, and phone minutes.

  • Share widely. Share this page on social media, and in your communities and networks. People navigating detention and deportation feel alone or scared to speak up—visibility is important.

Where do your donations go?

Emergency Aid & Basic Needs — When a mom or dad is detained, their family is suddenly left without critical income. Weekly groceries and baby supplies will be provided for families who have been separated from a loved one detained by ICE. Families that receive emergency aid from Manos Amigas Utah save more than $500 per month that they can spend on utilities and rent.

Detained Immigrant Support Fund — For immigrants detained at Purgatory, and in detention centers across the country, even the smallest necessities are out of reach. Your donation helps them call and video visit with their families and purchase snacks and hygiene items from the commissary.

️️Local Preparedness — Responding to increased ICE activity in Washington County means that we need to print and distribute large volumes of Family Preparedness Plans, Know Your Rights cards, and Food and Legal Resource Packets for families at risk.

Our Mission: Providing Emergency Aid and Compassionate Support

Manos Amigas roughly translates to “helping hands” in Spanish. We are a new—but fierce—community organization working to support detained and deported immigrants and their families in southern Utah.

Hear From the Families
